A message from our Tennis Pro, Richard Danis

 

I would personal like to thank all of the members for their warm welcome and their participation in my lessons and in my clinics. I hope that my little tips will be of service and improve all of your games.

If anyone would be interested, I would be available to continue giving lessons until the closure of the tennis courts. It would be on the weekends only starting September 9th, 2006. You can email me at the same address on the website for your reservation time. 

If anyone of you happens to be in Montreal and would want to simply say hello or play a tennis game with me, you can reach me the Cote-de-Liesse Sporting Club at 514-554-2582 or richard@clubcdl.com.

Once again, thank you all for making me feel like I was part of your little family. I had a great summer! 

Perhaps our paths will cross again next summer, until then take care of yourselves and be happy. Godspeed.

Tennis 55 and Over

55 and over Tennis was held on Wednesday, August 23, 2006.  The winners were Ruth McGurk and Pierre Boiley.  Congratulations to everyone who played.  A delicious lunch of 5 different kinds of egg salad sandwiches, fruit, cheese and chocoloate was held at Hazel and Bob Farnham's after the tennis.  Did anyone every decide which egg salad was the favorite???

Tennis Update:  Based on the popularity of the Opening Tennis Round Robin on Sunday June 25, it’s been decided to stage this event on an ongoing basis, so long as players are interested.

The upper courts will be reserved from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Sunday for mixed round robin play.

Special exception: This coming weekend, due to the Opening Tea being held on Sunday afternoon July 2, the mixed round robin will be from 2-5 pm on SATURDAY July 1.
 

Tennis news: The upper courts will be open for play as of 8 a.m. on Friday, June 23 (weather permitting).  A reminder that there will be an opening Round Robin tennis event on Sunday June 25 starting at 2 p.m. 

The daily schedule is almost the same as last year, except the courts will remain open later in the day, through July 15.

8 a.m. -12:30 pm open for play

12:30 – 2 pm closed for maintenance

2 –7 pm open for play

Gentlemen’s round robins on Saturdays at 8 am; Ladies’ on Mondays.

Again this year we will require players to drag and brush the courts when they have finished their court time, including when other players are waiting to play. This way we can keep the courts in top shape and everyone will be able to play on a freshly maintained playing surface. Thanks for respecting this requirement.
